The Daily Racing Form is the bible of all horse racing stats and legends. It's the paper that our uncles and grandfathers and great-grandmothers turned to for all the news fit to print about Seabiscuit, Secretariat and just about every pony who ever ran for the winner's circle. It's been the go-to medium for railbirds for 117 years, and it's now being put out to pasture - figuratively - at one of racing's great cathedrals, the legendary Keeneland.
The "librarians" at Keeneland are in the process of digitizing every page of every issue of The Daily Racing Form - 11 million pages in all. So far, 200,000 pages are online, and there's a long way to go.
We first heard this story on our local NPR radio station. You can hear Noah Adam's great report about this crazy project right now. And tomorrow, check out your own Daily Racing Form and maybe you'll pick a winner or two. Hey, you never know.
